poland wroclaw flights - win

Looking for the cheapest flight from LA to Wroclaw, Poland from August 3-16

whether I arrive in Wroclaw or in say Poznan and just take the train to Wroclaw.
So far, I saw a flight from LA to Amsterdam via Philly for $838 and then a $140 flight from Amsterdam to Wroclaw.
anybody think they could find me a far cheaper flight? I saw some considerable options from LA to Berlin (and i can take a train from there) though I rather avoid any visit to Germany unless the price was significant (in savings).

Could someone explain why a plane would do this for me?

This morning a plane scheduled for a city hop from Krakow to Wroclaw (a very short flight) took off but had a scheduled arrival time nearly 13 hours later
Instead of taking off and heading North West (toward the desination), it heads South West across Czechia, Austria, Southern Germany and Switzerland into France. Over the Alps it descends from a steady cruising altitude to approx 4,500 ft reducing its ground speed significantly and making a turn as if on approach to a runway.
There is a flying club airstrip around 8km North West of Rodez but the tracking of the aircraft is lost 6km south east of Rodez.
1.) Is such activity (in all facets) normal?
2.) Would two separate flight plans not need to be filed if someone were to take such a long detour? With presumably a stop between them.
3.) Are local ATC able to see the flight plan? Is it an issue to a French controller if the flight is planned to take place entirely in Poland

Travelling in Covid as a SOLO teenage (19M) traveller: Poland – Slovakia - Hungary; August/September 2020

We can all agree since the lockdown, life has taken an interesting route. Personally, my adventure to Switzerland were cancelled and a holiday to Berlin was put on hold. priorities began to focus on other areas of life and no longer being in and out the airports.
My last solo trip was back in January to Portugal, so I was ready for a trip. fortunately, I booked a cheap flight to Palermo and spent 3 nights there to fuel the spark and getting into the zone. March to July (4months) slowly passed and now its time to travel!
Finally made it to my hostel Bubble Hostel (£5 a night) after a budget friendly flight to the airport located 15k outside of the centre. When you first step foot outside any airport, the taxis are the first line of defence, but you got to ignore them and find a bus/metro or a train– in Krakow’s case, a bus was the option. Travelling solo allows you to listen to music so always have the freshest Spotify playlist prepared you’re your adventure.
Arriving from the UK were BoJo was doing his best impersonation of Vicky Pollard (Picture Daily mirror of this). You would expect the clubs and bar crawl to be closed... You are wrong! Whilst I was in Poland, I went on the same bar crawl 5 times! All nightclubs open until 5am and later. It seems to me that Covid must go to sleep at midnight. Forget the new normal because I am now back in the normal. 1m floor signs and masks still to be worn in indoor spaces, Gyms fully open and no need to book. This was a blessing as gyms only reopened later on in the UK...and of course closed again
During my month in ‘Eastern’ Europe you allocentrics may call it - to me its Central Europe. It seemed very calm and controlled compared to the state in the UK. It continued like this for the whole month.
The flight situation was the there was no blocking of seats, however on all three flights I experienced, there was the luxury of a row to myself. The bus situation is that there are no blocking of seats and it seemed normal. The only thing what was different is that you have to wear a masks in both areas
Headphones in and listening to the varies songs and occasionally podcast – I ventured on the explore the main attractions of Krakow (Pictures). There are positives travelling in Covid, as the sites become quieter and as a tourist, it is an opportunity to appreciate the sites. On the other hand, less people on the bar crawls, but the locals did not disappoint.
When visiting a new country, it is always best to learn a few words to impress the locals whenever you’re in a bar and had too much to drink. I experienced many friendly people and never felt unsafe in Poland as everyone I met was very welcoming. In my first hostel, I met a few German lads who I had a chat to about the city they were from and my limited knowledge on to Bundesliga. Travelling around, I feel like football is a universal language (Especially being from Manchester) as people smile when you just mention a few players from their country or team.
3 days into Krakow, I reluctantly switched hostels to Willa Retro Hostel (£9 a night) as I enjoyed the free coffee/tea and breakfast offered by the Bubble Hostel. In the new hostels garden was a very chilled vibe with music and socializing taking place.A complete opposite to what lockdown offered in the months of April and May. At this point, my excitement levels jumped despite I had no plans on the coming month.
A few days later, I agreed on an itinerary exploring the southern areas of Poland. This include the cities of Katowice – Wroclaw – Lodz – Warsaw – Lublin – Zakopane (via Krakow). Spontaneously after a chat to a stranger at 4am in a Krakow nightclub I decided to go to Budapest BUT turns out I had to go before the 1st September as Hungary were closing their borders. I did not know this prior purchasing the Flixbus tickets from Krakow – Kosice (Slovakia) then Kosice – Budapest.
Sad to be leaving Krakow I ventured on to Katowice just for the night. I can’t say much about this city but around this time there were protest against the current government on their views on gay rights so I spectated a fairly peaceful protest in the city centre. Hostel Sentral (£9 a night) was seen as a bargain as I was one of two people in my dorm - another common theme
Few hours on the morning bus ride to Wroclaw was relaxing as there was no people around me. This was a regular theme throughout my trip. Travelling in Covid was a dream for exploring. Wroclaw was a lovely surprise due to it reminding me what Krakow was like with the beautiful architecture. Labelled as a university city, I did notice the student scene as the parks on the river were full of life with people drinking and just socializing. This was a completely different approach to the UK due to no more than 6 people meeting up. Still amazed that the gyms still open and the evening atmosphere in the centre still alive. You wouldn’t see a soul enjoying life in the major cities of the UK. I didn’t stay much in Absynt Hostel (£6 a night) as there were many areas to check out. (Pictures of stadium, centre and park) It had that big city feel which I wernt expecting but I can see this city picking up a reputation and I would recommend anyone to visit
On to the lesser known cities of Poland – Lodz. Another cheap and safe journey by Flixbus and I was greeted by the presence of nothing. A massive bus station filled with nothing. I don’t know if this is because of Covid or the bus station is too big for the city?
The same greeting, I had from the bus station was the same greeting I had when I entered my dorm at the Cynamon Hostel (£8 a night) Nothing. No one entered my room for the next 3 nights I was there, and I’m convinced there was no one else in the entire hostel. An entire hostel for £24 pounds for 3 nights. Royalty. Lodz isn’t too popular with tourist, but I’m surprised to see no domestic tourists. It was the weekend, so it gave me an opportunity to check out the nightlife. Over this weekend I watched the demolition Bayern Munich did to Barcelona.. watched on Bein sport with some guys from the Middle East. No English spoken it seems in these parts of Poland and so just ordering a simple drink was complicated. I laughed with the locals, whilst not understanding a word but the music was good!
Warsaw... second time in Warsaw for me after visiting with friends back in March 2019. One of my favourite buildings is located in this city (Palace of Cultural & Science) but apart from that..eurgh. When travelling, I think when you travel to the capital, it does not represent the country, so travelling to the second cities to countries it gives a fairer review of a country. One of the many few positives Warsaw holds is that there’s an impressive beach where you can chill! City View Lucka Hostel (£5 a night). Not the best hostel but I was bound to encounter a negative hostel experience especially when hopping from hostel to hostel. Moving on..
Travelling again with Flixbus to the next city on the eastern side of Poland which is Lublin. Prior to coming to this surprisingly close-knit town, I didn’t do any research as I wanted to be surprised.. and I was! A standard old town filled with the coloured buildings and hosting an impressive castle casting over the town. I would recommend this place and recommend the hostel as well Folk Hostel (£8 a night). Finally I weren’t alone in a dorm, as I got talking to a few of the tourist. Just by luck a Hungarian girl was staying in the dorm as I ended up getting her contacts as I planned to visit Budapest. Also, a hostel first for me was that a dog was staying in the room, was a very cute dog and caused no problem aww. The main attraction in this town is the Concentration Camp located on the outskirts of the city. Vast area with a handful of people in the grounds. Highly recommended if your interested in the history of the surroundings.
Flixbus again of course back to where it all started. How much has Krakow changed with Covid restrictions since I was last there a few weeks ago? Turns out, not much as I met up with the bar crawl lads and seshed to 6am with varies nationalities including France, Netherlands and even the UK. As a solo traveller it is a great way to meet people and connect with as when you’ve had a drink you would make friends with anybody. In and out of hostels It is always good to splash out (not too much) on an apartment for a few days to recharge the batteries. A dumb move by me was the book an apartment by the train station - JM Rooms Lubicz 10 (£15 a night) .. wonder why it was so cheap!
Afternoon bus to the hidden beauty of Zakopane. Only 3 hours from Krakow and I highly recommend visiting if you ever get the opportunity. I expect it to be packed because of the many walking routes you can do in summer, in contrast to the skiing in winter. I really did get that Austrian mountains vibe but with such cheap prices. One to visit again in the future, unreal views UNREAL. Willa Mavi (£13 a night) topped it for me as I decide to stay in apartment with views of the mountains. BONUS: it had a bathtub! When you visit the bordering regions of Poland/Slovakia, you got to check out the ‘Morskio Oko’. Even in these Covid times, get to the bus station early to beat the crowds because you would like the lake for yourself.
A completely different side of Poland I thought id never encounter with the fresh air and amazing views. I returned to Krakow feeling content knowing it was the weekend, so I had to go on a bar crawl on my last night of Krakow. I sure did that and stayed out until 6… No 10pm pubs shutting here but hey ho, you people in the UK had 50% off food.
Next day was off to a new place in a new country – Kosice, Slovakia. Was a lengthy bus journey and no trouble crossing the border. I thought because of Covid there would be trouble but no there was no problem whatsoever but could I leave Slovakia and enter Hungary... who knows lets risk it.
It’s a shame for Slovakia because it is positioned in between their well-known neighbours of Poland & Hungary. I personally not too interested in the country and yes I have been to the capital - Bratislava last year (not solo).
My mind was just thinking about if I can enter Hungary, but I would have to take a overnight train to Ruzemberok then a bus down to Budapest. Thankfully, no issues on crossing the borders. The date was 31/08/2020 so one day just before the borders close. From the bus station to the hostel was just an easy metro ride to the centre. It really is not hard to direct your way around the major cities of Europe just follow the maps on offer and use google maps. The metro to the centre was a quick ride and I was soon ready to check in…but it was 7am. Most hostels/hostels accept check ins at 2pm so knowing this I booked the night before and with hope I could sleep the morning away in Budapest. Long story short that was not possible. After chatting to an Italian girl about her city Torino, who was working in the Hostel One Basilica (£5 a night) I explored the attractions such as the Parliament Building, Chain Bridge and many more. The busiest attraction would be the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, but we are in a global pandemic.
The nightlife in Budapest did not disappoint despites it was Covid. Luckily my hostel was full of outgoing people who worked in the hostel and knew the best places to party. A tip for any student travelling is to research the citys Erasmus page and check if there are any events. This is because the beer tends to be cheaper!!! I was successful in my search for an Erasmus night. The entry was cheap, and the drinks were cheap but of course they were because Budapest is cheap!! So many people in these Covid times into a strange nightclub with many corridors to apply. Just a few hours ago I was talking to my mates how we miss a normal night out..oops. Further few nights were spent in the capital and I met up with the same girl from Lublin. She showed me around the city, and we talk about many different topics.
Thankfully I could escape Hungary as i could catch my flight to Zakynthos in Greece where my solo adventure would end. Party time!

Any feedback and discussion would be apprenticed

Flight transfer during Covid-19

I was unable to find information about this that's newer than 5 months old.
My father is flying from Los Angeles to Wroclaw in Poland. He has a flight transfer in Frankfurt, Germany. Will he be allowed to board his connecting flight? I know the USA is on the restricted travel list in Germany and I don't want him to waste his time if they will stop him at the airport.
I tried looking at the official Frankfurt airport website but it doesn't give specific info about connecting flights.
Thanks.

Banning flights after September 15.

Hello! As you probably know, several countries can not send flights to Poland. Among those, Spain.
I am a Spanish student and will be doing my PhD in Wroclaw, I have a flight booked on September 18, but I am afraid it will be cancelled soon as well.
Do you think Poland will extend the prohibition after September 15?
Than you in advance.

This made me so paranoid that I jump at the slightest noise

I was visiting my family in Poland. I was staying at my uncle’s house in Wroclaw. The place was very old, and it always gave me a weird vibe when I stayed there alone. He has a lot of old books and scrolls from the 19th century. One day I was sitting with my friend watching a movie when my uncle came in and told us that he had to go on an errand. As always, he told us to not touch anything and avoid breaking anything at all costs.
We said okay and then he left. We finished the movie and then started trying to do backflips on the pullout couch. After a while, my friend said that he was gonna go back to his house to bring some more video games and snacks. So I was all alone in the house. It was about 7:45 PM at that time, so I couldn’t really do anything except play video games, which I was kind of bored of. I went through some of my uncle’s stuff and found a baseball. It bounced pretty high, so I kept tossing it in front of me and then running forward to catch it.
But then, I tripped and the ball bounced a little too far and broke a stained glass window. I was really worried that I broke one of the rules and my uncle would be mad at me, so I started to text my friend to come help me do something about it when I noticed something. There was a yellowed piece of paper on the ground. It must have been inside of the window. I unrolled it and realized that the paper was from around the 15th century.
It was written in Medieval English so it was pretty hard to understand, but I was able to decipher most of it. It was speaking about some strange beings that live in the space between the air or something, but I couldn’t figure out what the rest said. Then I looked to the bottom of the page and there was a Latin incantation written there. (For the safety of others, I will not include the actual incantation) It said: “Xxxxx, xxxxxxx xx xxx. Xxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxx! X, Xxxxxxx xxx xxxxxxxxxxxx! Xxxx! Xxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxxx!”
I said to myself, ha, so a bunch of hydrogen smiley faces are gonna appear out of nowhere? That’s a bunch of crap. And then I did the dumbest thing that I have ever done in my life. I recited it out loud. I waited and... Nothing happened. I was pretty disappointed and tossed the paper on the ground. I knew that paper was pretty old, so I went to wash my hands. I turned in the bathroom sink, but no water came out. I kept jamming the handle up and down, but still, nothing came out. And then I tapped the sink very lightly with one hand still positioned under it and...
An extremely powerful blast of water hit my hand so hard that some of the skin peeled off. I screamed in fright and turned off the sink. But right before I did, I swear I heard someone laughing, but I thought it was my imagination. I went to the kitchen to go make myself some cereal. I walked up to the cabinet, and all of a sudden, the little door opened up extremely quickly, hit me in the face, and gave me a bloody nose.
This time, I heard the laughing loud and clear. It wasn’t a child or an adult’s laugh, it was... I don’t really know how to explain it. I texted my friend that he had to get over here right away and that something weird was going on. He replied that I was joking around and that I had to stop watching so many horror movies. He has always been skeptical of scary stuff.
I began to text the whole story, but when we I was about to hit send, my phone powered off by itself. I tried to turn it back on, but it just showed me the “low power” icon. That was weird, because my phone was at 72%. That’s when I heard the same laughter again. Terrified, I ran outside. It was now around 8:00 PM. I finally saw my friend coming a few minutes later. I told him what happened and showed him my peeled skin, bloody nose, and phone. He didn’t believe me, so I showed the bathroom. He started freaking out.
“What are we supposed to do? Are sure you aren’t hearing things?” I told him that I wasn’t and was about to tell him that he should see the scroll when we were interrupted. The lamp in the kitchen started shaking. “What the hell?” my friend muttered. But then it shook more, and more, and more! Then it shattered into a million pieces. My friend screamed and we both jumped back, nearly bumping into a counter in the darkness.
That’s when we heard the laughing. Except it was louder this time, and it didn’t stop. It just kept going. We dove upstairs and my friend took out his switch blade that he always had with him. “Dude, we are not safe here. We have to go and tell my uncle!” He opened his mouth to respond when the door blew off of the hinges. We dodged it just in time. My friend ran into the hallway and waved his switchblade around, yelling “I’M CALLING YOU OUT YOU, YOU, YOU WHATEVER YOU ARE!!COME OUT HERE AND FACE ME!!!” That’s when every single one of the windows in the house shattered.
We bolted down the stairs and ran out the door. We got on our bikes and rode as far away as we could. My friend was on the verge of crying. He said “What the hell man, we just messed up big time. We messed with some bad stuff. I shouldn’t have left you. We could have just had a normal night eating some health food from your uncle’s. Oh man, OH MAN!!” He threw his bike on the ground and sat down on the curb. “Dude, calm down. We can go to your house and call my uncle. He’ll know what to do.” He agreed and we went there. We told his mom about it. She didn’t believe us at first, but we showed her our wounds and she became worried. I called my uncle.
He scolded me when I told him about the broken window, but screamed at me when I told him about reading the incantation and the events that happened. He said that he would be there soon and knew how to get rid of the spirit. I asked how much time he would be here in, and he said about an hour. That worked for me, and my friend had calmed down. We played video games for a while, but then he had to go to the bathroom. I was about to beat the next level, when I heard a scream. I ran I to the bathroom and asked him what was wrong, and he pointed at the mirror and said “L-L- LOOK!!!” I looked at the mirror and was terrified by what I saw. Compared to this, the events at the house were an episode of Scooby-Doo.
Our reflections weren’t there, but something else was. There was a grinning creature in the mirror. If you want to imagine it, think of one of the creatures from “Where The Wild Things Are” but smaller and 10 times scarier with yellow eyes. Then it reached toward us and we ran out. We told his mom, and she thought we were prancing her, but then she saw it. It came out of the bathroom and started running towards us. We ran outside, went in the car, and drove back to my uncle’s house.
To our huge relief, we saw my uncle’s car parked there. We told him what happened and he went inside with us. And guess who greeted us? The creature dove at us as soon as we went inside, but my uncle yelled some words and threw something at it, and the creature disappeared. My parents came back a few days later and we left Poland. Before, I said goodbye to my friend and we both agreed to be careful with old relics of we ever came upon them. Ever since that time, even a pencil dropping to the ground will put me in fight or flight mode. This was the post terrifying thing I have ever experienced in my whole life and I hope that no one goes through anything similar. That creature still haunts my dreams...

PCR requirements are impossible to met. Who should I contact?

I am trying to met the requirements to let my girlfriend come with me back to Cyprus from Poland.
The current requisites mandates that she have to fill the Cyprus Flight Pass 24h before of boarding. That form includes a field to indicate that you have a negative COVID PCR test that is issued in the 72h before the boarding.
That gives you up to 48 hours to be tested and have the results. In Wroclaw, Poland, I am being unable to find any clinic that delivers results under 72h.
We contacted the Cyprus embassy and they just redirected us to the polish Ministry of Health, who is not responding to our emails.
Does anyone who should I contact in Cyprus to ask permission for my girlfriend to be tested on arrival?
Thanks.

Can you still go outside in Krakow?

My wife and I are "stuck" in Poland until...who knows...We are currently in Wroclaw where, at least for now, it is still allowed to go for a walk outside. I'm guessing in Krakow things are the same? We have to leave our Airbnb on April 7 and we are wondering about going to Krakow where, once the airports open, it will be easier to catch a flight.

Easiest way from Krakow to Wroclaw?

Cześć! I am planning on traveling to Poland some time soon. Not sure exactly when but sometime this year. I will be traveling from the US so I will be flying into Warsaw as this is the cheapest. My plan then is to go to Krakow and then from Krakow to Wroclaw. Then Wroclaw to Prague.
My family is from Wroclaw area and I am visiting for a day there. I am not finding much good information online on how trains or buses are from Krakow to Wroclaw. My parents aren’t too familiar with transportation to/from krakow, only Warsaw so they are no help. I like to plan every detail of my trip so I am trying to find this information before I book any flights to find my most efficient path. I would ideally like the quickest way, budget isn’t that much of an issue.
Does anyone have any info on this or advice?
I don’t have any issue if it is complicated as I speak polish fluently (reading isnt great for me but I can figure it out usually).
Sorry if something like this doesn’t fit this sub!!

Itinerary/destination assistance for 21 day trip to central Europe

Hello! I am looking for some advice on our trip to central Europe this May. Sorry if this is too much background , just trying to be thorough and answer any anticipated questions.
We are focusing on destinations within Germany, Czechia, Austria and/or Poland. It’s my husband’s first time in Europe. I studied in Prague in college and have done a fair amount of travel already in this area. We’re staying with friends in Berlin and want to maximize our time with them, and they would also like to go to Prague with us, so those two destinations are non-negotiable. I’ve been to Dresden, Vienna, and Česky Krumlov, and my husband doesn’t care where we go, so not planning on going to any of those again. Beyond that, we are not tied to any of the other cities, and the order of travel or number of days spent in each place are totally flexible. We'll mostly travel by train or bus, but are open to a flight or two.
My husband travels without any expectations or doing any research. He doesn’t care whether or not he “sees all the sights.” I like to do a lot of planning as far as where to go and when, but the actual activities within the cities will be less planned out. I don’t mind doing some things that are touristy as long as there’s an actual purpose/it’s worth it and not gimmicky/artificial/insanely crowded.
When traveling, we both enjoy scenic views, good food, coffee, beer, and walkable exploration. Other interests are science, tech, and moderately into history and music. It may be worth mentioning that we do live in the Pacific Northwest (USA) so while we definitely love them, we are not strangers to mountains, alpine lakes, forests, etc. We are not particularly limited by budget.
I’ve read through a million Reddit travel posts and travel blogs, but am still not unsure about what to include. One place I wish I had gone when I was studying abroad was Poland, and everyone on here seems to love it... but it's a bit out of the way. Geographically, it probably makes more sense to focus our plans within Germany or within the area of south Germany/western Austria.
I’m looking for advice/recommendations based on the destinations or the below itinerary, arguments for one place vs another, alternatives to this, etc.
Some of the potential stops being considered: Kraków, Wrocław, Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, Garmish-Partenkirchen, České Budějovice, Plzeň, Karlovy Vary, Salzkammergut region
We have 21 days for travel, not including arrival/departure days. Our trip will begin in Berlin, end in Munich, (or the opposite) and include 3-4 nights in Prague. We don't mind being a little busy but not don't want it to feel hectic. This seems like kind of a lot, but here’s a possible itinerary that includes the majority of our hopeful stops. Too much?
Day 1 - fly to Germany
Day 2 - arrive in Berlin
Day 3 - Berlin
Day 4 - Berlin
Day 5 - Berlin
Day 6 - travel to Prague (probably by train)
Day 7 - Prague
Day 8 - Prague
Day 9 - Prague - possible half day trip to Karlštejn Castle or Kutná Hora
Day 10 - travel to Wroclaw (by train?)
Day 11 - Wroclaw
Day 12 - Wroclaw
Day 13 - travel to Krakow (by train or bus)
Day 14 - Krakow
Day 15 - Krakow - day trip to Auschwitz
Day 16 - fly to Salzburg
Day 17 - Salzburg - day trip to Salzkammergut region/Hallstatt/Bad Ischl
Day 18 - Salzburg - day trip to Berchtesgaden
Day 19 - travel to Munich
Day 20 - Munich
Day 21 - Munich - half day trip to Neuschwanstein area hike
Day 22 - Munich
Day 23 - fly home
Thank you in advance!

Can I obtain Work Permit if an Entry Ban was imposed?

Hello,
On August I got a job offer at x company in Poland and they applied for work permit so I had to wait until I receive the Work Permit. I was working in Poland with a project for almost 8 months. So, in September I finished my project and I had to go back in my homeland(not EU country). During this time I had applied for residence card in Wroclaw(my workplace) and when I was leaving Poland I only managed to get the Stamp on Passport and no Residence Card. I was transit and had to pass to Dortmund before going in my country and because I had no Residence Card they put my name in SIS(Epulsion) but they did not tell me. A few weeks ago I had flight to Poland and was stopped from the Polish Border and that’s when I was notified for the Entry Ban imposed by the German Border in Dortmund. I have only one question: What does the Entry Ban means for the process of receiving the Work Permit?
Thanks in advance.

P.S: I can give more info if somebody wants to know more before saying what will happen.

Itinerary help: Frankfurt(in and out) with 18 days to play with....thinking Germany, Czech, Poland

So need help finding some stops on a trip for my SO and myself.
Starting/Finish Destination: Frankfurt(it is in Germany)
Time of year: early July
Length: 18 days
Budget: flexible....no hostels, but not high end. Own room and bathroom
Things purchased: flight only
Interests/what we like: old towns, historic art and architecture, beer, chilling by a river or lake with a beer, history, castles, cobblestone streets without cars, photography, breweries, a mix of small and large cities
type of travel: rail and book as we go with hotels/train
Places we have been together(near Germany): Austria - Vienna, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Switzerland - various cities, Paris, Liechtenstein
Places I have been to without SO(near Germany): Luxembourg, Belgium - Ghent, Brussels, Bruges, Amsterdam, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava
So have a few ideas in place. Since I have been to Benelux(few times) and we have been to Switzerland and Austria together. Think the best options would be east or northeast.
OPTION 1 (this is one I am leaning towards)
This one would loop into Czech R and Poland. I like this one as I have never been to Poland(neither has she), should be able to rail the entire time and requires no flights. Can do a good mix of big and small towns and will hit 3-4 different countries.
Basic plan(need some help here):
Have a lot of flexibility and could add Prague in, I have been there but she has not.
Questions:
Is that enough time in Wroclaw, Frankfurt and Krakow(with Auschwitz)?
Need a stop between Frankfurt and Cesky?
Need a stop between Cesky and Krakow?
Need a stop between Wroclaw and Frankfurt?
Any problems with booking trains and hotels as we go in July?
Option 2
Rail through Baltics. Frankfurt to Warsaw then to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and fly back(not in that order). Not as excited about this one for some reason. Should fit my time frame and would require a flight back I believe. Could ferry to Denmark? Somebody would have to really sell me on this one.
Option 3
Benelux. Since I have been there a few times. I would really need somebody to sell me on cities that I have not been to and a plan that makes sense.
Thank you all for your help.

I am a French student stuck in Poland and my friend left without me.

I'm a French Erasmus student currently leaving in Wroclaw, Poland. With all the COVID-19 craziness going on, I have spent the last few days barely sleeping and trying to understand what the holy f*ck I'm suppose to do because NO ONE tells us anything and honestly I just never had to deal with anything so big.
So we are three french girls in Wroclaw, my roommate (22F) , a friend of mine (20F) and me (19F). This whole situation started last Tuesday when our university closed down and ever since it has been hellish. My friend and I have been doing most of the organizing for our trip back to France and have seen our options growing slimmer and slimmer until finally after a big blow up complete with tears and panicked breathing yesterday we concluded that our best option was probably to just try to get to Berlin and from there find any way possible back to Paris. The bus Wroclaw-Berlin is at 9.10 p.m. and we arrive at Berlin at 3 a.m. I am extremely stressed out and so is my friend but I finally managed to convince my roommate to accompany us on the bus to Berlin or she would be stuck here for months. I was so relieved to not be alone and for us to ALL get back together, leaving no one behind.
After another night of blankly staring at the ceiling I finally fell asleep to then be woken up by my friend who found a flight for Amsterdam and is leaving without us. All morning she updated me on whether her flight was cancelled or not and telling me that she was so stressed out for her flight blablabla. In the end she announced she was staying with us but a few hours later as I was finally drifting off for a late morning nap, she told me she was already in an Uber, on her way to the airport. She says that her parents made her do it and that she would have never left if my roommate wasn't planning on taking the bus with me. Honestly, I guess I get it. She saw an opportunity and grabbed it but it sucks. It just sucks that she left us here, it sucks that I did not even get to say goodbye and it sucks that I might be stuck here for months without speaking the language or even being able to do something. I know I should be less panicked as there are way worse situations than mine and I am not in any imminent danger but theses last few days have been terrible and the one person I grabbed onto for balance, the one person who kept repeating that we were in this together, that whatever happens we would manage together just up and left me here to catch an early flight. I feel trapped in this country, in my apartment. I am just so angry and tired and sad and I want all of this to be over.
Anyway, thank you for reading all of this. I hope all of you are cosy in your homes to wait for the storm to pass.

I booked and planed a 14 day solo travel trip to Poland in two days - I leave tomorrow

Hey! I just wanted to write this all out because the last two days were insane. I lost my job back in July and luckily found a new one recently. They told me the start date wouldn't be until the 24th so yesterday I casually googled cheap flights to Europe (I'm in NA) then realized I could get to Poland pretty easily...

I sat there laughing for a couple minutes at the thought of leaving in two days then it started to sink in that I could actually do this. This year I also spent two weeks in Ukraine and another two camping around the states but once I start working, when am I going to get another two weeks off? I said fuck it.

So I'm spending a couple of days in Warsaw, 4 in Wroclaw, 4 or 5 in Krakow (Maybe a day trip to Zakopane) then train back to Warsaw to go home.

If anyone happens to read this that's in Poland the next two weeks we should grab a beer! If not, just know that if you're thinking of going somewhere, just go, you never know what you'll see.

Recently back from my first ever solo trip.

Found this subreddit about a month ago. Booked time off work at the end of May without even booking the holiday. 2 weeks before my departure I booked an AirBnB and some flights and that's it. Visited Wroclaw in Poland for a few days and loved it.
Quite possibly the best experience I've ever done in my life.
If you're unsure, nervous, socially awkward, not confident etc, I recommend you just take the leap of faith and go and experience it. This may sound easy in words, but trust me. I used to be very shy, quiet, not very confident and comfortable living my normal life. The solo experience completely forces you out of your comfort zone in a good way. You're forced to communicate with people and you'll realise just how much you can genuinely do, you just need that confidence boost.
The trip itself was great and I couldn't have done it without this subreddit. Most of the information I got was from yourselves. Visited the Mathematical ToweUniversity in Wroclaw and the second I saw the view was the second the holiday properly hit me. Beautiful city and very cheap.
Finally, thanks to anyone on this subreddit who helps out or posts any information. I read posts from months back and they helped shape my visit. Thanks again!

Help me plan an Eastern European trip mid Oct - early Nov

I'm traveling in 2 weeks for my second backpacking trip in Europe, this time focusing on Eastern Europe (well Poland).
I'm flying to Stockholm on Oct 15 (booked), staying for a couple days then making my way to Wroclaw, Krakow, and Gdansk. I booked my return flight leaving from Gdansk on Nov. 2.
Here is what I'm thinking -
Stockholm: 10/15 - 10/19 (4 nights / 3.5 days)
Wroclaw: 10/19 - 10/24 (5 nights / 4.5 days)
Krakow: 10/24 - 10/29 (5 nights / 4.5 days)
Gdansk: 10/29 - 11/2 (4 nights / 3.5 days)
Thinking about my last trip, this feels like a pretty generous pace for me, so I'm tempted to squeeze in one more city probably outside of Poland. Good idea? If so, any recommendations? I'm looking at Kyiv, Ukraine (seems to have reasonably priced flights), but still doing some research in terms of safety.
My absolutely favorite place last trip was Budapest. Liked Lyon too. Thought Prague was meh :p Liked Ljubljana but saw a bedbug at the hostel... I think I'm looking for a cozy / low-key experience. Interesting things to see and people to meet.
Throw me some ideas please! :) There are some obvious places I have not been to, like Germany...
